Tickets for all of the evening talks at Moffat 2021 are available from Eventbrite from 10am, on the morning of Saturday 14th August 2021.

All tickets are FREE so make sure you get yours as soon as you can to avoid disappointment!!

The schedule of talks is as follows (but may be subject to change):

MONDAY 20th September 2021

The Old Well Theatre - Moffat

FILM SCREENING: The Eagle Huntress

· Lauren McGough– International falconer Lauren McGough will talk about her experiences flying Golden Eagles in Scotland, the USA and Mongolia.

· Peter Robson - Senior Ecologist for Scottish Power Renewables, Peter Robson will present a talk about birds of prey and windfarms .

Julian Tite of The Bigger Tour will give a short presentation on his 2hr tours through the wilder parts of the Southern Uplands, leaving from Moffat daily throughout the festival.

TUESDAY 21st September 2021

The Annandale Arms Hotel, Moffat

Olly Routledge of Selcoth Fish Farm and Jenny Mulgrew of JDM Woodland Management present on the latest wildlife friendly woodland creation at Selcoth, near Moffat.

Alan Tweedie of the Scottish Gamekeeper's Association presents on the benefits of managed land for wildlife including Golden Eagles.

Patrick Laurie of Nature Friendly Farming Network talks on farming for wildlife and golden eagles.

Raptor worker Stuart Benn presents a talk on his work and experiences with Golden Eagles on Jahama Highland Estates (one of the estates who donate young birds for translocation) and beyond.

WEDNESDAY 22nd September 2021

Justin Grant - Raptor Worker & Climber Justin Grant, a member of the Scottish Raptor Study Group, will present a talk on his experiences with birds of prey across Scotland.

Gavin Ross of Police Scotland will present a talk on raptor persecution and the work of the National Wildlife Crime Unit.

Roy Dennis, legendary author and conservationist, will present the final talk of the evening entitled 'Restoring the Wild'. Roy's talk will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the festival line-up!

· Dave Anderson – Eagles in Scotland – Join Dave to hear about a life long passion for birds of prey and the wonderful experiences Dave has enjoyed whilst working with them.

· Keith Brockie – Eagles in Art – Keith presents a beautiful talk embracing Eagles and other wildlife in art. Keith will have some of his stunning books for sale on the evening.

· Lorcan O’Toole – Eagles in Ireland – Lorcan’s talk focuses on the Golden Eagle reintroduction in Ireland which preceded and informed the current South of Scotland reinforcement project.

· Chris Rollie – Eagles in Southern Scotland – Anyone who has attended a talk by Chris Rollie will have been bowled over by his knowledge of and boundless enthusiasm for birds of prey in Scotland. Join Chris to hear about the history of Golden Eagles in the South of the Country.

· Sir John Lister-Kaye - Author and owner of the world-renowned Aigas Field Centre, Sir John’s presentation is one of the most anticipated in the festival line-up. With a wealth of knowledge and experience of Scotland and its most iconic wildlife, this is a talk not to be missed!

Gordon Buchanan - We are delighted to welcome wildlife film maker and presenter Gordon Buchanan who will deliver the virtual keynote address via a web uplink. The talk will be live and the audience can put their questions to Gordon at the end of his presentation. Gordon's talk will be on Scottish Wildlife with a focus on the Golden Eagle.
