Springwatch presenter and conservationist Iolo Williams is Moffat 2023’s keynote speaker, presenting a fascinating talk on Golden Eagles and raptor conservation. Iolo will be joined by Ewan Miles of Nature Scotland wildlife tours based on the Isle of Mull.

MEET A GOLDEN EAGLE

Join Ray Lowden of Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre to meet a falconry Golden Eagle and learn about the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project’s award-winning work to restore the small and fragmented population of these iconic Scottish birds to southern skies.

NOTE: There may be times during the day when the Eagle is resting – we apologise for any inconvenience – the welfare of the bird is paramount.

EVENT: BLOOD BIKE EAGLE RIDE-OUT

Join the Blood Bike riders and riders from across the UK on this tailor-made motorcycle route through the heart of southern ‘Eagle Country’. Paper maps of route and Eagle ID sheets will be available on the day!.

The Scottish Power Pipe Band will return to entertain festival-goers throughout the afternoon on Moffat High Street.

Local MP’s David and Oliver Mundel deliver a note of thanks to festival-goers and the town of Moffat followed by an address from the Head Boy and Girl of Moffat Academy.
