My name is Ray Lowden and I am the owner of Kielder Water Birds of Prey Centre.

I am delighted to be involved with the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project.

The reintroduction of this iconic species into the South of Scotland has given me the opportunity to visit many schools in the Borders and Dumfries & Galloway with one of my captive bred Golden Eagles called McLeod.I am passionate about education and having McLeod with me in the classroom enables the children to engage fully with the wonderful program of study delivered by the very professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Golden Eagle Project Team.

I have worked with Birds of Prey for nearly 50 years now and I can honestly say that some of my happiest times have been taking birds to school visits and teaching the children about these wonderful creatures.

I look forward to visiting many schools with my birds again, both in Scotland and England, once this awful COVID-19 situation is over but until then stay safe.

A Huge Thank You to Ray, McLeod and all of the staff at Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre for all of the help, advice and support they have given us so far. Visit their website at: www.kielderbopc.com
