Moffat 2024: Another great festival in Eagle Town!
Well, that's it for another year!
The Moffat 2024 Golden Eagle Festival concluded on Sunday 8th September and what a weekend we had!
The South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project has launched an urgent public appeal to help secure its long-term future and put plans in place to reintroduce golden eagles to other areas of the UK where golden eagles are currently extinct.
Alixe and Fergus are both eagles translocated as subadults from the Outer Hebrides to southern Scotland under the project’s research licence. We have an update on both sat tags:

Clyde, a three year old male golden eagle, was translocated as a subadult under a research licence from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides this winter. Clyde, named after the river – that has its origins in Southern Scotland, was satellite tagged shortly before his release in early February 2024 in the Lammermuir hills.
