Merrick (F43) is a female golden eagle originating from Rottal estate near Kirriemuir in the Angus Glens.
She was the fifth eagle collected in the summer of 2022, the last to leave the aviaries, after Dora (F22), and was also our heaviest eagle last summer at 5.2 kg!
All the translocated eagles continue to do well, the 6 juveniles released in summer 2022 have now moved away from the release site and all are now hunting for themselves.
H03, 'Thistle', a male golden eagle, was the first chick to be collected in the 2022 season. Thistle came from RSPB Abernethy reserve in the Scottish Highlands.
